Santa Theresa Tile Works, Inc is a
working ceramics studio, our tile artists produce our unique
handmade tile daily. Our showroom is located in the
historic Firestone Building in downtown Tucson, Arizona at
439 N. 6th Ave. directly across the street from our
production studio. The showroom is open to the public Monday
through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. and Saturday from 10a.m. to
4 p.m., closed Sunday. Please call our showroom at

or commercial tile projects and public art commissions.
Our showroom features delightful displays of brilliant
handmade tiles by our own talented artists as well as other tile
artists from the US and Mexico. Browse through bins of our
colorful tile, create your own one-of-a-kind home accent piece,
or discuss a creative project you have in mind. You might also
consider taking one of our Workshops (see
schedule below) and be sure to pick up a guide to all of our
local public art
installations.

The Your Choice Workshop (you choose your home accent
piece to tile: accent table, wavy leg table, wall plaque or
mirror) and Garden Bench Workshop follow our familiar
weekend format: On Saturday, from 1pm to 4 pm you choose
your tile from our big, brilliant inventory, lay out your design
and set it. On Sunday, from 1pm to 4pm, you grout and polish
your piece and take it home. Our artists are here to help you
every step of the way and of course we provide all your tools
and materials, an informative how-to packet, and great snacks.
We also offer the Quick Set Workshops for those who
want a shorter time frame. In only one Thursday evening
(from 6pm to 8pm) you will create a one-of-a-kind home accent
piece, perfect for gift giving and learning the techniques we
use in designing and completing all of our home accent pieces.
Because of the short time frame the focus will be on design and
tile selection. Your instructor will demonstrate the process of
setting and grouting then you will leave with your design
complete and all the materials and clear instructions needed to
finish your piece at home.
Tile Making Santa Theresa Style was introduced in 2003 and
proved a huge success. Many of our friends have asked us to
share the secrets of our unique style of tile making and we are
glad to offer this in depth Workshop for those who really want
to roll up their sleeves and make tile. Currently, we are
offering 3 Tile Making Workshops as well as the follow-up course
Tile Making 2 offering more studio time and advanced instruction
only for those who have completed Tile Making Santa Theresa
Style. We are also offering our special summer Workshop:
Intensive Tile Making Santa Theresa Style. This complete Tile
Making Workshop happens in one intense week. Combine a week in
Tucson at a local resort with our Tile Making Santa Theresa
Style Workshop for a great vacation, the summer hotel rates are
low and your days will be filled with creativity.
OPEN STUDIO
Open Studio for Tile Making Students is a newer aspect
of our tile making workshop line-up. Part of our production
studio is devoted to our students and contains all the equipment
(and inspiration!) needed to learn and practice the art of tile
making Santa Theresa style. We are offering the use of this
space to our Tile Making students on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
and Friday from 10 am to 4 pm; Wednesday from12 noon to 4 pm.
Buy an Open Studio punch card for $10.00 per hour and drop in at
your convenience to use the studio. We also offer an optional
Open Studio & Materials punch card for $15.00 per hour. The
Materials card entitles you to use of available studio glazes as
well as your choice of red or white clay. The use of the Open
Studio always includes the use of the slab roller, limited
storage space for your tiles and firing of your tiles. Please
bring your own detail bottles and tools.
