Tile Making Santa Theresa Style

Firings
The class is designed so that all activities may be
accomplished within class time, the key is to PLAN AHEAD.
Students may take clay home to cut (2 slabs max Day 1 & Day
2). We recommend that all cutting be done within the first two
weeks of class, this will allow ample time to get all your tiles
through the glazing, detailing and firing process.

Only tiles completed for firing by end of Day 4 will be fired
in final firing. Should you have cut tile that is not glazed,
detailed or fired, we suggest you move on to Tile Making 2. Tile
Making 2 offers more instruction and the opportunity to continue
cutting, glazing, detailing and firing tile. Another option
would be Open Studio, in which you can work at your own pace,
and includes firing of your tiles, but no instruction.
Reasonably priced firing is available privately through
Kristine.
You will have enough material and time in class to make
approximately 3 square feet of shaped tile. Individual amounts
may vary according to student's ability and quickness. The tiles
in the final firing (Day 4) will be ready for pickup on a
predetermined date.
A $150 deposit will hold your place in the Tile Making Workshop.
Deposit refunded in full with notification of cancellation a
full 2 weeks prior to the first day of the workshop.
